Clive Dodman and the staff of Dodman Inns Limited welcome you to The Kings Lodge Hotel and Hunters Bar & Restaurant. A historic hotel dating back to the 17th Century for local, business guests or the independent traveller. Hunter's Bar & Restaurant offers a home-cooked menu featuring British pub classics and other dishes from local produce. There is a well stocked bar with Real Ales and an extensive wine list. In the winter the two large open fires create that relaxing atmosphere where you can feel the history of the King's Lodge. The historic and royal association of the Kings Lodge spans five centuries. Built in the 17th century, it was converted to a hunting lodge by the Lord of Langleybury who later became Charles I of England. In the cellars below are the remains of passages said to lead to a nearby house occupied by Nell Gwynne, Charles II’s lover. Our en-suite rooms are drenched in history and the warmest of stays is assured. The Bar and Restaurant Menus, developed and prepared by Chefs Matt and Simon Hall, consist of primarily British pub classics as well as dishes for those seeking something a little different. With a wide range of starters, main courses and desserts we are sure you will find something you love. Do not worry if cannot manage a big meal or simply do not have the time. With our range of sandwiches, filled jacket potatoes, deli wraps and salads, we are confident that there is something for everyone. If it’s just a drink you require, Hunters Bar is well stocked and we also have a peaceful south-facing garden. Whatever you are looking for, Hunters Bar & Restaurant at the Kings Lodge Hotel will ensure that it will be an experience that you will not forget... for all the right reasons. |
